Laurie Hawkins From Shutt Sports Mfg. in Salem IL. Presented to Rose Vensel, A Generous Donation Check, in support of the Freedom Riders Christmas For Kids Program!
WELCOME TO CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS 2011!
Our organization is about motorcycle rights but we are also very committed to our pro-grams in which we, as a group, can give back to our community. We are all volunteers.
Our Christmas For Kids program is about trying to make sure that on Christmas morning the chil-dren in our surrounding communities wake up to find a wish has come true.
During the year we have fundraisers, such as rummage sales, a softball tournament, raffles and other events to help collect funds for our program. All the money (100%) goes directly towards the purchase of toys, clothing, and special wishes the children might have for Christmas. The money that is collected goes directly back into our community businesses where we make our pur-chases for the children. We are a not-for-profit group and cash donations are 100% tax deductible.
In December we have our largest fundraiser by having a party for our members, friends and the public. This is not just a party. We have a silent auction and a live auction with items that have been donated by the different businesses and individuals in our area who want to be a part of giving back to the community and the children.
In the past we have taken care of as many as 650 children in our community in one year. We try to help the parents who have had a hardship during the year and just need a little helping hand with making their children’s Christmas bright. Our thanks goes to everyone who participates and/or donates to our Christmas For Kids Program.
Donations can be mailed to the address at the top with a notation that it is for the Christmas For Kids program. Our shopping dates for the children begin on December 6th.
